Getting Started

Set Up Your Capsul

Zero to a working dashboard in about 10–15 minutes.

What You Need

💻
Anthropic's desktop app with Cowork mode. Free to download.
📁
A Folder on Your Computer
Any folder. MyCapsul creates a MyCapsul/ directory inside it.
🌐
A Web Browser
Any modern browser to view. Automatic sync needs desktop Chrome, Edge, Brave or Arc; other browsers get a one-tap export instead.
Installation

Download & Set Up

One zip. No installer, no app store.

1

Download the Zip

Get mycapsul-v1.5.2.zip from MyCapsul.com.

2

Place It in Your Folder

Move the zip into the folder where MyCapsul should live — Documents is a fine default. Don't unzip it; your agent does that.

📌
Desktop, Documents, a cloud-synced folder — your choice. Pick one place and stick with it.
Setup

Create Your Capsul

One conversation from here to a working dashboard.

3

Open Cowork and Select Your Folder

Open a new Cowork session in Claude Desktop and, when prompted, select the folder holding the zip.

4

Run Setup

Say "Unzip and set up my MyCapsul". Your agent unzips, scaffolds the workspace, and starts onboarding.

5

Walk Through the Onboarding Wizard

When your dashboard opens for the first time, a 5-step setup wizard asks for your name, color palette, schedule type, key people, life areas, and how you want to track money. About 2 minutes. Every step is skippable; your agent picks up the rest in your first conversation.

💡
It doesn't need to be perfect. The wizard is a starting point. Miss something? Tell your agent later — "I forgot to mention I have a car payment of $340 on the 5th."
6

Open Your Dashboard

After setup, you'll have a file called mycapsul.html in your folder. Open it in a browser. That's the dashboard, running entirely on your machine.

The zip itself is packed as a plugin (docs/, README.md, commands/, skills/mycapsul/…). Your agent builds the MyCapsul/ folder below from it.

📌
Bookmark it. You'll open it daily. If you lose it, ask your agent for "the link to my dashboard."

First Steps

Your First Real Session

What a normal session looks like.

7

Start a Cowork Session

Open a Cowork session and select your MyCapsul folder. Your agent reads last session's handoff and picks up where it left off.

8

Talk About Your Life

"I spent $30 on lunch." "I have a meeting Thursday at 3." "My energy is low today." Your agent updates the knowledge base and dashboard as you talk; refresh the dashboard to see it.

Not sure what to say? Check out the Prompt Cookbook has dozens of examples by category.

9

Sync Your Dashboard

Your agent's changes go to a push file. Open or refresh the dashboard to pull them in. (Live 5-second updates only work if you serve the folder over http — opened directly, it's refresh-only.)

📌
The other direction: the dashboard exports its state to a sync file. In desktop Chrome, Edge, Brave or Arc, connect the file once from the header pill; it re-syncs after your first click each time you open the page. In any other browser the pill reads "↓ export" — one tap downloads capsul-sync.json and your agent picks it up from Downloads next session. Then tell your agent to "sync from the dashboard."
🧪
Want to explore first? Open the included mycapsul-demo.html — sample data for a fictional user named Brodie. When you're ready, open the clean mycapsul.html.
